Deem, Rainbowsuits, or Profly? Or others? I need a suit!
Main Post:
Hi everybody .. I am a complete beginner in both skydiving and tunnel flying, and a I need a suit :)
There are lots of brands, and lots of models per brand, and I have concerns and questions. I'd be very grateful if you help me sharing your experience.
Do you recommend buying a hybrid suit the works in the tunnel and in the sky? Or do you recommend to buy 2 separate suits? One for the tunnel and one for the sky?
Which brand/model do you recommend? I'm looking for a reasonably priced suit, because I'm not the richest person on the planet, but I also don't wanna buy a cheap suit that breaks quickly, I'd have burned my money this way.
By the way, I'm a relatively tall and skinny guy, 185cm / 71.5kg
Thanks!
Top Comment: Based on these manufacturers that you are considering, I'm assuming you are in the EU? Just asking because it does make sense to get one that does not involve overseas shipping in case you need to send it in for adjustment or repair. In that case, I would actually get a Tonfly suit. I have no experience with Rainbow suits or Profly but I know a lot of people with Tonfly suits that are well built and fit nicely. There are some models that are tunnel specific, but some that are more reinforced in the butt and knees for use in the sky as well.

Top Comment: Can't recommend these guys enough if you're just starting out with FF in the air/tunnel. I got a focus a bit under a year ago and put about 150 jumps on it, and 1.5 hours in the tunnel. Pros: Their customer service is top notch: for my dimensions I had to get a size M, but hips and chest would've been too tight. So I emailed them and they offered to custom tailor it, FREE OF CHARGE! Over the 150 jumps, I've slid a dozen or so landings and washed the suit twice. Literally still looks brand new. I think lead time was like 4 weeks when I ordered it, but I got mine shipped to the U.S in 10 days. I haven't seen a suit hold up this well for the cost Recommended them to a few buddies and everyone still thinks it's the best bang for the buck suit out there. Cons: Arms are a bit too long (not sure what happened there), but I honestly barely notice it now. Not a household brand (yet ;)), so you won't look as "cool" as some sky ninjas. So if that's what you're after, better off buying a vertical. Will I get a more specialized suit as I get more experience in FF? Probably. But for now I'm really happy with it and considering getting a Combat1 for 4 way RW. Hope this helps!

I’m trying to fly my ez pilot pro but it does not connect to the controller, the only time it did was on its first flight and after i put the battery to charge and plugged it back in all its doing is what’s in the video. the bind also does not turn on any lights.

Top Comment: Try connection it to betaflight and bind from there Try pressing the physical bind button on the drone (check the user manual) Also not sure if you know but you have to put the drone and controller in bind mode, then it should connect.
Does DJI Fly still have issues on Google Pixel 8 Pro?
Main Post:
Reading all kinds of issues with DJI Fly on Pixel8Pro.
I’m thinking on buying the P8Pro but if DJI fly doesn’t work properly it will be a waste of time.

Just get the dedicated controller. The app is shit, on any phone. Also there are privacy concerns, the app isnt exactly open source.

AIR 3 vs MAVIC 3 PRO
Main Post:
I just ordered the DJI Mavic 3 Pro and after learning about the specs and price of the Air 3 fly more combo. I can’t sleep at night.
Yes, I understand you're able to adjust the aperture on the Pro and that you're able to record in 5.1k. Can someone explain to me or give me a reason on why it's priced at £/$1000 more than the Air 3.
The Air 3 has a way better controller, stronger transmission signal, has the only two useful lenses on the Pro, improved night mode & battery life compared to Pro, it's also lighter and can even record in a 9:16 frame.
However, because the Air 3 is lighter I'm assuming it can't handle as much wind. Lighter would also mean the drone wouldn't fall into the A2 category making it easier to travel with?
After reading my thesis on these two drones. If you had an unlimited budget, which would you keep in your camera bag?
(and no the mini 3 pro isn't a valid answer)
Top Comment: I use RC Pro on Mavic 3 Pro and it's an incredible experience. Top notch drone....your at the top level now.....enjoy that baby...it will last you for a long time before you consider upgrading again.
Mini 4k Vs Mini 4 pro?
Main Post:
What's the difference? 4k is a lot cheaper.
Looking for a beginner drone.
Top Comment: (edit) TL;DR: you are comparing the cheapest versus the most expensive Mini version you can buy right now. Expect a lot of differences in hardware and software. M4Pro can fly autonomously, has better range and camera. However line of sight manual control will be the same, so if you don't care about the below, go for the cheaper model. I had the same dilemma in the end when I was thinking about upgrading my old mavic mini to the new mini 4k. Because of a discount I started thinking that the mini 3 (non pro) would be a better option for camera quality. And then I saw the possibilities of the Pro versions. In the end I found a good deal on a Mini 3 Pro, otherwise I would have gone for 4 Pro. The mini 4k will be perfect for a beginner, but if you start looking at the possibilities of higher models, the FOMO starts 😅 Whatever the choice, the fly experience will be similar. If you want to fly manually and sensor size is not important, get the 4k. The image quality will still be good. If you want to fly manually and camera is more important, look for a discount on the Mini 3. If you want the intelligent flight modes like Active Tracking, hyperlapse, cruise control, you can only go for the Pro versions. However, there are (beta) 3rd party apps that can do a similar flight mode on non-pro minis (without obstacle avoidance). Sometimes the decision also depends on the budget you have for accessories. Extra batteries, carrying case, RC with or without screen,... Those will also have an impact on overall experience.
